• Defence Minister comes to Townsville and announces an expansion of berth ten at the Townsville Port so it can handle bigger and more naval vessels and cruise ships, putting paid to 2 of the arguments for an indentation of the Townsville Breakwater for a cruise ship terminal , and vindicating those who say it should be in the port. Well, I guess the defence minister is not putting any faith in the terminal project then. Best stay out of that one boys! ;

Just goes to show, don’t it, the Labor party is like a one armed bandit (old fashioned poker machine). All developers have to do is put some coins in and pull the handle (and someone else pulls the strings), and , even if you come up with 2 lemons (Palleranda Conservation Park Residential Development and Flinders Mall becoming a road for your Plaza) you win the bloody jackpot!

I’d just like to fill the “vacuum” here before the election and point out what it takes for someone supposedly a lefty to stand for the Labor Party .

To be preselected or appointed, first of all you have to be prepared:
• To give up all self respect and act in an unprincipled manner when called upon;

• To repeat the mantra “the past is a foreign country” and develop a short memory like Peter Garret;

Swimming with sharks –Something smells fishy in Townsville

Sharks and harmless marine life are already being culled unnecessarily , get rid of the nets and drumlines!

With a number of shark attacks around the country in the last couple of weeks in WA, Tas and NSW have come calls from some in the community for a shark cull. There have been anecdotal claims of increased shark sightings.
