Rudd Refusal to Uphold United Nations Human Rights Committee Decision.

I have received a letter from the Prime Ministers Office in reply to my letter to him dated 6/6/08 , and 2 volumes of documents , relating to my appeal to the United Nations Human Rights Committee in the matter of Coleman v Australia (Communication 1157/2003 . The text of the letter with links to the documents in PDF can be found at http://www.cynicismcentral.org/node/19 ) .

I was convicted, gaoled and ultimately bankrupted for reading out the Universal Declaration of Human Rights without a permit.

Mr Rudd , who went to the people at the last federal election stating in ch13 of the Labor platform -that he would adhere to Australia’s international obligations under the ICCPR , which includes adhering to the UNHRC’s decisions and implementing them as well , had someone else, a Senior advisor , write to me on his behalf stating he will not uphold the UNHRC decision that my conviction be quashed , all fines and costs be returned and that I be compensated.

Mr Rudd, the Prime Minister of Australia did not have the guts to write to me himself.

The Prime Minister of Australia has broken the labor party’s promise on the protection of the human rights of Australians.

Prime Minister Rudd, like Howard and Ruddock, has made a mockery of Australia’s signing of the 1st Optional protocol to the ICCPR .

If the government will not uphold the decisions of the UNHRC on violations of the ICCPR , then I call on Rudd to be honest and withdraw Australia from it altogether as saying one thing and doing another, as with Howard and Ruddock , will ultimately shame Australia on the world stage .

This citizen knows that the only thing worse than liberals on the matter of human rights – is a labor hypocrite. That is because everyone expects liberals to act like pricks.

It now should be my life’s mission, wherever I am, to do my best to see that no labor person is elected or re-elected at any level, regardless of who takes their place.

This wouldn’t be a concern to anyone on the left if the pricks let us have optional preferential voting for the House of Representatives.
